10. International Fair of Pet Shop Merchandise PET FAIR took place between 1st – 3rd of June 2007 in Lodz, Poland. 90 companies met in Lodz: producers, distributors and importers from Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Poland and Sri Lanka.

PET FAIR is the oldest and the biggest branch event in Poland, one of the most important zoological fair in Eastern and Central Europe. Its significance is confirmed by the fact of accepting the status of media patron by PETS International – the most important branch magazine in Europe. Media patrons are also: Pet Market, Fauna i Flora, Nasze Akwarium, Magazyn Akwarium, Przyjaciel Pies, Kocie Sprawy, KOT magazine, Akwarium.info.pl portal, Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper and Lodz Department of Polish Television. The honorary patronage is in the hands of President of Lodz City and Association for the Care over Animals in Poland.

The aim of the fair was to promote and present the articles indispensable for care and raising the domestic animals: equipment and accessories for breeding and raising the animals, toys and nutrients, saddler’s articles for cats and dogs, aquariums, terrariums, cages with equipment.

Interesting programme of events, for professional as well as for the pets’ lovers, accompanied the fair:

- reptiles exhibition organized by Draco magazine and specialist zoological shop SZREK, at which visitors could see king’s snakes who eat rattlers, corny snakes in numerous color variants, few kinds of invertebrates, among them big, tropical insects known from “Indiana Jones” – spiders, cockroaches of Madagascar and many more; also other animals: geckos, turtles and terrarium imitating fragment of tropical forest.
- 2. International Exhibition of Well-Bred Mice, organized by Polish Mouse Club
- 3. International Exhibition of Well-Bred Cavies, organized by Cavies Club of Poland, at which the visitors could see the most beautiful cavies from numerous Polish cultures
- The Exhibition of Decorative Birds and Canaries, organized by Lodz Association of Decorative Birds and Canaries Breeders
- International Exhibition of Well-Bred Dogs with nearly 50 breeders from Poland and abroad
- the shows of snatch and rescue dogs organized by The Group of Specialist Rescue of Fire Brigade from Lodz

The best known guest of this year’s edition of the fair was dr Heiko Bleher – world famous aquarist – who gave lecture on the positive developments of European pet market.

The great interest of visitors was also aroused by the photographic session of pets. Every pets’ owner could bring her/his animal hoping that it will be the star of the advertising campaign of the next edition of PET FAIR. Dogs, cats, cavies, mice, even the turtle posed for the photos.

For the first time the fair was accompanied by the contest for the PET FAIR Medal for the best product presented at the fair. 9 companies with 22 products applied to the contest: 15 in FODDER and 7 in ACCESSORIES section.

The fair aroused great interest among the professionals from all over the world. It created the perfect place to get in numerous business contacts and to get to know the newest market offer. At the fair we hosted the journalists from all the zoological branch media, as well as the regional press, radio and TV. Nearly 5,5 thousand people saw the exposition.
